Corrections first, questions second. If a figure on this site no longer matches the manufacturer's page, we want to know before your next visit.
What to write about
- A specification that has changed. Manufacturers revise product pages constantly. If a flow rate, cartridge life or media list here no longer matches the source we cite, tell us and we will fix it.
- A certification we got wrong. Lapsed, superseded, or a product we recorded as uncertified that actually holds one. This is the thing we most want to be right about.
- Research we have missed or misread. Particularly on the hair and skin pages, where we take a harder line than most of this category.
- A product worth covering. We add products when we can source a real specification for them, not on request.
- Anything about how we are funded. The disclosure should answer it, and if it does not, ask.
info@thefiltertap.com. We read every message and answer most within a few days. Corrections get answered first.
The Filter Tap is a national publisher with no premises and no service area, so there is no phone number and no postal address to give you. Inventing either would be fabricated contact data, which is exactly the sort of thing the rest of this site argues against.

What we cannot help with
- Diagnosing your water. Your utility publishes an annual report that answers this better than we can — here is how to read it. For a private well, only a lab test will do it.
- Medical questions. We report what published research shows about water, hair and skin. We are not clinicians and this site employs none.
- Warranty and order issues. We are not a retailer and we do not sell anything. Those go to the seller you bought from.
- Paid placement. There is none available at any price. The policy.
